GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
HONGKONG. 26th. March, 1919.

recently sanctioned a number of land sales in the Colony
without public auction, all of which have taken the form of
extensions to lots already purchased, and I now submit these
transactions for Your Lordship's covering authority.

could not have been sold in conjunction with other adjoining
Crown Land as a building site.
(2.) Extension of 15,794 square feet to Inland Lot 2138, as show red on the plan enclosed marked (2).This area might possibly have been sold in conjunction with other adjacent Crown Land, but the provision of access thereto would have been a matter of extreme difficulty owing to the natural steepness of the land, and, in addition, any further sale of land to the South of Inland Lot 2138 might have interfered with the position and direction of a future road, and therefore with the development of the locality.
(3.)
Extension of 3690 square feet to Inland Lot 2206 as snom red on the plan enclosed marked (3). This extension would have been useless to anyone but the lessee of the Inland Lot referred to, and the transaction has relieved
